Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Our pediatric critical care services are operated and staffed as a seamless system of care within the HealthONE Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children family of hospitals.

Our PICUs are staffed by experienced board-certified pediatric intensivists, pediatric nurses and other dedicated pediatric staff.

Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children at P/SL PICU has as supportive environment for patients and their families:

• All private rooms with adjacent restrooms

• Sleeper couches for parents

• Room-service meals

• Ronald McDonald House family room

• On- site; shower/laundry facilities

• Family resources center

• Children’s play areas for siblings

The PICU team includes:

• Fellowship trained and board certified pediatric intensivists in-house 24/7

• Specially trained pediatric nursing staff

• Pediatric radiologists

Pediatric specialists immediately available: surgery, cardiac care, GI, urology, neurosurgery , neurology, nephrology, infec-tious disease, pulmonology, hematology/oncology, ENT

Dedicated pediatric support teams:

• Respiratory therapists

• Occupational therapists

• Pharmacists

• Comprehensive child-life program

• ECMO–experienced team for the most extremely ill patients

RMHC at P/SL Pediatric Intensive Care is a 10 bed unit.
