The Comprehensive Cancer Center at P/SL is approved by the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) Commission on Cancer as a "Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program." P/SL undergoes a rigorous survey process to ensure that ACoS program requirements are met.

SuperDimension® Bronchoscopy

• The Lung Cancer Clinic is home to one of only two inReach superDimension bronchoscopes in the state of Colorado.  The inReach system enables access to distal or peripheral lesions and lymph nodes using minimally-invasive techniques.  Clinical studies show that this system allows for accurate diagnosis in 69-74% of peripheral lesions and 94-100% of lymph nodes, a significant improvement over traditional bronchoscopy.

Laser Induced Fluorescence Endoscopy (LIFE)

• This breakthrough in bronchoscopy technology has shown promise at detecting lung cancer earlier and more accurately.  When comparing LIFE to traditional bronchoscopy, LIFE resulted in a 73% specificity and 94% sensitivity for cancer detection, while the traditional method performed 48% for both categories.

320-slice Aquilion ONE® CT Scanner

• This scanner requires significantly less scan time and reduces patients' exposure to radiation.

The P/SL Blood & Marrow Transplant (BMT) Center achieved F.A.C.T. accreditation from the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT). This endoresment recognizes that our BMT program has met FACT's standards for providing quality medical and laboratory practice in blood and marrow transplantation.Our BMT program is one of a limited number of programs nationwide to receive this honor.
