Other Services

Developmental Progress Clinic:  Babies who are born premature or who have special medical problems are at risk for developmental difficulties in the areas of moving, learning, communicating, seeing and hearing. Early identification of such potential problems provides the family with the opportunity to choose helpful resources or services to enhance their baby's developmental potential.

The Developmental Progress Clinic offers you:

  • Early identification of developmental progress or difficulties
  • Home activities to help your baby move, learn and communicate.
  • An opportunity to share concerns or questions with developmental therapists.
  • Information about specific developmental resources close to your home.

Synagis Clinic
Synagis (palivizumab) is indicated for the prevention of serious lower respiratory tract disease caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in pediatric patients at high risk of RSV disease. Candidates for Synagis include premature infants with and without chronic lung disease and full-term infants with chronic lung disease. The Hospital for Infants and Children offers this clinic on a monthly basis from November to April as a service to the community.

Mother's Milk Bank
For many infants, donated human milk is the gift of life and health. The Mothers' Milk Bank screens, collects, processes, stores and dispenses human milk as a community service. Recipients are babies whose mothers cannot supply sufficient milk for their little ones' special health needs. Donated milk is available through the Mothers' Milk Bank with a doctor's prescription only. All milk is pasteurized and appropriate laboratory tests are performed prior to milk distribution.
